MARKETPLACE PLANS
The Health Insurance Shoppe partners with top-rated insurance carriers available through GetCoveredIllinois, the state marketplace. These plans cover essential health benefits and pre-existing medical conditions. Our contracted carriers offer plans through both the marketplace and direct enrollment. If you do not qualify for a tax credit, you may opt for direct enrollment, which does not require GetCoveredIllinois to serve as the plan administrator.
Essential health benefits include 100% coverage for Preventive Care (for adults and children), Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Maternity Services, and Fertility Treatment, all without annual or lifetime benefit limits.
Enrollment in coverage is not year round and limited to the Annual Enrollment Period or when there is a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) that opens up a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).
2026
Annual Enrollment Period
(11/1/25-1/15/2026)
From November 1st to December 15th each year, individuals and families can apply for a new plan of insurance with a first of the year effective date. Enrollment between December 16th, 2025 - January 15th, 2026 will provide a February 1st effective date.
